'One Health' Forum on North Carolina Oil Spill Response, Recovery and Health Effects

There is no charge to attend this forum; lunch is provided.
The BP oil spill may or may not affect the NC coast, but it has provided a good opportunity to evaluate readiness and communications on the local, state and federal levels. Join us to assess North Carolina's preparedness to respond and recover from an oil spill event. Participants at the forum will discuss North Carolina's strengths, coordination, collaborations, and how to train and use volunteers, and we will identify areas that need additional coverage and management.

The One Health concept is a worldwide strategy for expanding interdisciplinary collaborations and communications in all aspects of health care for humans and animals. The synergism achieved will advance health care for the 21st century and beyond by accelerating biomedical research discoveries, enhancing public health efficacy, expeditiously expanding the scientific knowledge base, and improving medical education and clinical care.
